Career
From 1976 to 1979, Kaity Tong worked as a reporter for KPIX-TV in San Francisco. In December 1979, she was named news co-anchor at KCRA-TV in Sacramento, California. In 1981, she joined WABC-TV in New York. Within two years, she was promoted to anchor, working with Tom Snyder and Ernie Anastos. She has also worked as a news anchor for television series and films such as Spider-Man, City Hall, Marci X and Night Falls on Manhattan.
She became the main anchor of the station in 1992. Surprisingly, she is still employed at the station. She was the first woman to be awarded the New York Women’s Agenda with Star award by Rotary International. She also received the Distinguished Woman Award from the China-American Planning Council.
