Ronnie Platt revealed that his thyroid cancer was diagnosed.
The 64-year-old leading singer Kansas shared news in Facebook post on February 15th.
“You ask you all, my thyroid cancer is diagnosed on Tuesday, but before everyone is excited, there is 99% of the survival rate, that has not expanded,” Platt wrote. “It is contained on my thyroid. I just have to remove the thyroid. Go through for a while rehab and be right in the saddle.”

Platt thanked the fans of the iconic rock band for their support after the group had to delay and cancel multiple shows.
“I sincerely appreciate everyone’s positive thoughts and prayers,” Platt continued. “I have some absolutely amazing people to hit me !! As I put it, this is just a rush on the road and it will be behind me very quickly! ^, So I pray to continue!
According to the Mayo Clinic, “Thyroid cancer may not initially cause any symptoms. But as it grows, it can cause signs and symptoms, such as swelling in the neck, change of voice and difficulty swallowing.”

The band delayed shows in Catoos, Oklava and Durant, Oklava, for dates in November and canceled two performances in New Orleans and Lake Charles, La., Lenting “The band’s illness and doctors advice.”

“Our goal is to get back to the road as soon as possible,” said the assistant manager of the band JR Rees for the place of Ultimate Classic Rock. “We are all focused on the support of Ronnie through this right now.”
Kansas was formed in 1973 and is known for hits such as “Continue with his Son” and “Dust in the Wind”. Platt joined as the main vocalist of the group in 2014. The latest group album, Absence of presenceIt was published in July 2020.
