Career
Karin Harjo began serving as a Western Area Ski Instructor in 2011. She was a Western Area Ski Instructor until 2015. She then served as a Women’s Ski Instructor from 2015 to 2012. Harjo has worked for US Ski & Snowboard in both of these capacities. In April 2022, she became the chief female alpine instructor of Alpine Canada Alpin, where she is currently employed.
Karin announced in March 2023 that she would begin coaching athlete Mikaela Shiffrin after resigning as Alpine Canada Women’s National Director. She is still the only female lead director in the World Cup series and only the second in history.
