On July 15, Kate Bosworth filed for divorce from husband Michael Polish in a court in Los Angeles. The couple announced they were separating in 2021, with Bosworth saying at the time:
“The beginning of love is often the most beautiful part.” The draw is fireworks, magnets and revolt. The beginning indicates a wide openness of possibilities. When you’re in love, share a burger with someone and you can die happy knowing it’s your last dinner. Buy a bottle of whiskey and drink with me, then pour me a waterfall. Play the perfect tune on the jukebox and dance with someone you’ve known all your life, despite having met just a few minutes earlier.”
Then the American actress also stated that they were never more grateful to each other when they divorced. She went on to say that she and Michael had always chosen love over the previous 10 years.

Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish met on the set of Big Sur in 2011 and started dating the following year. They got engaged in August 2012 and married the following year. The singer of the group Blue Crush became the stepmother of her daughter Jasper from a Polish ex-marriage. Bosworth announced her split from Polish in August 2021, posting a black-and-white photo of them smiling and kissing on Instagram, along with a lengthy message.
After their 2013 marriage, Bosworth said she had never dated a Polish man before, and he informed her he planned to marry after just a few weeks, even before they were together. She continued, saying:
