Kate Bosworth Stated That She Used To Cover Up Her Heterochromia With Colored Contacts

Kate Bosworth is known for her roles in films such as her feature film debut Blue Crush and the Bobby Darin biopic Beyond The Sea, both of which attracted international attention to her. In addition to her films, the actress is also known for her extremely colored eyes, caused by a disorder called heterochromia iridium. For the uninitiated, this disorder is an inherited and sometimes acquired condition that causes a person to have different eye colors. This small aberration is extremely rare and affects less than 1% of the world’s population. The disease can appear in three ways.

Complete heterochromia occurs when both irises are of a different color; Segmental heterochromia occurs when one iris has a different colored segment, and central heterochromia occurs when the irises are the same but have a different colored ring around the pupil. Bosworth’s left eye is blue, while her right eye is hazel with a hint of blue.

It now includes its signature feature, although it is a new development. Bosworth told The Sydney Morning Herald that her problem is the lack and she notices it more “when the light is too gray”.

To cover up her problem, she’s used contact lenses for most of her career, especially when she first arrived in Hollywood. But the actress did not always want that. Bosworth had to ‘even out’ her eye color because casting agents and the director asked her to wear colored contact lenses during filming to make her eyes look less weird. According to The Things, the backlash over her unique characterization has hampered her acting abilities for a decade.

Kate Bosworth is being encouraged to embrace her natural eye color

Fortunately for Bosworth, she eventually found a director who didn’t care about her disability and encouraged her to accept it. While traveling to Australia to film Superman Returns in 2006, she met director Bryan Singer, who advised her to drop the lens and let nature go.
