Kate Hudson held her first concert in her ‘hometown’, promised to ‘sing, play and love’ in 2024.

Hudson shares Ryder with her ex-husband Chris Robinson. She is also mother to son Bingham, 12, with ex Matt Bellamy, as well as daughter Rani Rose, 5, with fiancé Danny Fujikawa.

The birthday post follows an inside look Hudson shared of her family’s Christmas celebration on Dec. 27, which featured multiple members of her family in the same pajamas.

“Christmas is about love and maybe a little friendly family competition…” Hudson wrote in the caption of the Instagram post, which included a video of her competing in a festive gift-unwrapping game while wearing oven mitts.

Hudson’s parents Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell also appeared in the post, with Kurt, 72, shown placing decorations on top of the Christmas tree using a ladder and Goldie, 78, holding the ornament with her back to the camera.

Away from family moments, Hudson appeared in one episode View last Thursday and shared her thoughts on male actors in the rom-com world.

“It’s hard to get male movie stars to do rom-coms,” he said How to lose a guy in 10 days the star said on the show. “As long as we can get more Marvel guys to like, you know, ‘Hey, come to a rom-com!’, I think that’s a big part of the formula, too.”

Panelist Sara Haines then asked about the “misstep” between male actors and the appeal of romantic comedies, to which Hudson replied, “I think it’s about the script and how invested we are in telling the story about the script and the directors.”

“If you look at classic rom-coms or movies that go on forever — because they go on, they’re the ones that go on forever; people come back and come back — they had the best writers,” she added, naming the late Nora Ephron as an example.

“So it’s more about how studios invest in talent,” Hudson said.
