Kate Middleton Makes Emotional Visit to Hospice with Close Connection to Princess Diana

Kate Middleton is a strong visit to a children’s hospice in Wales, who had a close relationship with another Princess of Wales before her.

On Thursday, January 30, Princess Kate (43) visited Tŷ Hafan, a charity organization that helps children with the conditions of shortening life and their families to fulfill their lives. Tŷ Hafan – which means “Haven House” in Velsk – is in Sully, southern Wales, and was built with the support of the late mother Princess Diane Prince William.

Following Diana’s steps, Kate also became the patron saint of a charity organization. King Charles King Charles was previously a protector, which he received after Diana died in Paris in 1997.

Irfon Rees, Executive Director Tŷ Hafan, said in a statement that they were “deeply honored” that Kate became a patron.

“As our protector, her royal Highness will be an inspiration for children with the conditions of shortening life and their families, our dedicated staff and volunteers and everyone who so generously support us,” said Rees.

“No parent ever imagines that their child’s life will be short. Unfortunately, this is a reality that thousands of families in Wales are facing. We cannot stop it, but together we can be sure that no one lives just the child of their child.”

It was an intense morning for Kate because she spent time with children who care about hospice as well as their families. She also participated in the Sessiah “Stay and Play”, in which the children enjoyed a meaningful game and activities with their care. Seeing Tŷ Hafan helps children and families in a holistic way, Princess Kate met with the bereaved families who supported the hospice during his life, death and beyond.

This marked the second excursion in a few days for the princess, which gradually returned to his public role after the news on January 14 that he was in remission from cancer. She also joined her husband Prince William in London in memory of the victims and survivors of the Holocaust 27 January, earlier in the week.

The project for the construction of hospitals was one of the last patronage of the late Princess Diana, and was completed several years after her death in 1997. It was only last year that a new wing was opened for the bereaved family and employees seeking a break in the midst of challenging moments with the help of a donation of one of Diana’s former assistants, Patrick Jephson.

Kate, who accepted the hospitality movement as one of her key public roles since she started her work in the royal family, has close ties to children’s hospice from Eastern Anglija, based in the area near the Wales family house, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk. Showing her importance for her, Katein’s first royal speech was during a visit to one of the center of hospice.

She also visited hospice in other parts of the world when she was at Royal Tours along with William.

The connection between Princess Diana and Tŷ Hafan began in 1995, when the founder of the organization approached Diana on the becoming of the patron saint of hospitals.

“She didn’t even break the ground, but she said,” her former private secretary Patrick Jephson recalled in October.

The first major funds raising was a concert where opera legend Luciano Pavarotti in the nearby Cardiff, after Diana’s request. It is tragic that she had never seen the hospice in which she died in 1997. The hospice eventually opened its doors 25 years ago, becoming the only Wales hospice for children.

Jephson then told people that one of his “most exciting” memories of Diana “was her determination to lead from the heart-after her work with the concern of life around the world, and especially children’s hospitals.”

The work of Tŷ Hafana, he added: “As well as the job he did to attract world attention to children with the conditions of shortening life and their families, it is certainly a definition of love in action.”
