Kate Middleton Sends Christmas Concert Invites Complete with Her Royal Cypher (and the Dress Code!)

Kate Middleton is gearing up for her third annual Christmas concert — and she’s making sure her special guests are ready, too!

Just one day before the Princess of Wales’s Together in Christmas Carols service at Westminster Abbey, Prince William and Princess Kate’s social media accounts have shared a new video showing some of the lucky attendees receiving their invitations.

“Invitations ready!” the team captioned the post. “Looking forward to tomorrow’s Carol Service with @earlychildhood and salute so many of you who are making such a difference to children and families in communities across the country #ShapingUs.”

Guests were filmed opening and reading their invitations, which were emblazoned with Kate’s royal code, “C” for “Catherine” (her full name) topped with a crown.

The invitation also contained important information: the dress code of the event. As in years past, the dress code is “smart (no hats).”

Excited guests put their invitations in special places, for example on the refrigerator (secured with dinosaur magnets for two youngsters!) or on the Christmas tree.

This year’s event is linked to Princess Kate’s Shaping Us campaign, which focuses on her mission to support children in their early years. The palace said the event was organized to “thank everyone who works to support babies, young children and families in our communities across the UK and to celebrate the golden opportunity of having a new baby”.

Keeping with this year’s theme, Princess Kate will likely bring her three children to the event. While Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, 8, accompanied their parents to the carol concert last year, it will be the first time for five-year-old Prince Louis to attend on Friday.

The Christmas Concert will include performances by the Westminster Abbey Choir, Adam Lambert, Beverley Knight and more, as well as readings by special guests including Prince William!

The event will be broadcast as part of Royal Songs: Together at Christmas, broadcast on ITV1 and ITV X on Christmas Eve. The telecast will feature additional content including an introduction by Princess Kate, films highlighting the importance of early childhood and celebrating the contribution people in our communities make to support the youngest members of our society during those crucial early years.

Kate’s inaugural Christmas concert was held at Westminster Abbey on December 8, 2021. The royals surprised spectators with their first public appearance on the piano, accompanying Tom Walker as he sang “For Those Who Can’t Be Here.”

Although the Princess of Wales did not play the piano at the 2022 performance on 15 December 2022, the festive event was once again held to bring together members of the royal family with charity staff, community volunteers, frontline workers, military personnel and others “Celebrate the joy that human relationship can bring,” said Buckingham Palace.

Last year’s program was interspersed with tributes to Queen Elizabeth, who died in September 2022 at the age of 96.
