Katherine Heigl attended the 2024 Emmy Awards Grey’s Anatomy and left with her 2008 film 27 Dresses on her mind!
In a post shared on Tuesday by DJ Benjamin Walker on Instagram, Heigl, 45, can be seen dancing to Elton John’s hit “Benny and the Jets” in the bright red strapless Reem Acra dress she wore to the event — just like her character which Jane played in the legendary rom-com.
Walker was well aware that he was helping to create a nostalgic moment.

“I love a good rom-com so when I saw @katherineheigl I knew IMMEDIATELY there was one song to end the night and one song only…. #IYKYK #27dresses,” he captioned a carousel of photos and videos from the party.
in 27 Dresses scene from 2008, Jane Nichols and her eventual love interest Kevin Doyle (James Marsden) bond over their love of “Benny and the Jets” in a bar, laughing at the fact that Jane once misheard the lines “she’s got electric boots” as ” she has electric teats.”
At the end, the couple dances so shamelessly to the song that they attract the attention of every visitor to the bar. They shut down the bar like Heigl shut down the party.
The film’s title comes from the fact that Jane was a bridesmaid at 27 weddings and had 27 hideous dresses to prove it. She’s the epitome of “always the bridesmaid, never the bride,” and Kevin wants to write a story about her… but things get complicated when they fall in love.
