In a new interview with City and country published on August 13, the actress talked about how she copes with the increasing attention on actors and their clothes.

“Fashion is really big, and it used to not be. As an actor, you weren’t necessarily photographed on the street all the time. It’s different now and flatters me, but it doesn’t change the way I live or dress,” Captured star, 45, told the outlet.

She doubled down on her philosophy, adding: “I’m determined to have a life and not let this industry dictate decisions as simple as what I wear or as complicated as what I do. You don’t want to be afraid of anything, do you?”

In June, the French luxury clothing and accessories brand and Dawson’s Creek alum has launched a collection of products born from a sophisticated, simple yet abundantly chic aesthetic.

“I approached this collection with the idea of ​​it being a complete wardrobe,” Holmes said in a press release at the time. “You can mix and match pieces to create many different looks to suit your individual style. There are day and night looks. Professional and playful. Suits, skirts, jeans, flats, heels, jackets.”

The most unique piece wasn’t a piece of clothing (though Holmes might argue otherwise as she posed topless with it wrapped around her body), but a piece of home decor, specifically a $795 comforter designed by her mom.

“My mom made me a lot of quilts, for all my brothers and sisters [her] grandchildren. And there is a difference when you sleep under your mother’s work,” she told za The Washington Post in an interview dated June 1.
