Kavi Kumar Azad, 46 years old (born May 12, 1972), is an actor and comedian from Sasaram, Bihar, India. Yesterday Bollywood comedian Tutu visited his hometown in Sasaram, Bihar, when he was young and predicted that he would one day become an actor. Her addition changed his world and perspective, and he was determined to become an actor. On the contrary, his family opposed him pursuing an acting career because they were facing a financial crisis at the time and wanted him to stay by their side and become their pillar of support during difficult times. However, Kavi’s passion for acting could not resist his family’s stance and he ran away from home to Mumbai to become an actor. His initial days in Mumbai were a nightmare as he had neither money nor connections in Mumbai. So, he used to live on the sidewalk and sometimes go hungry all day long. Although he started off with small roles in Bollywood films, his luck started showing up when he essayed the role of Dr Hathi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and the rest is history .

Kavi Kumar Azad started his acting career with Mela (2000) and Fun2shh (2003) starring Aamir Khan and Twinkle Khanna Play small roles in other movies. Since there wasn’t much scope for growth in Bollywood, he turned his attention to the world of television, which turned out to be the right move for him. He began his television acting career playing Jaanbaz Jaadugar in the Disney Channel Indian sitcom Good Luck Nikki. In 2008, during his struggling days, he got a call from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah production house. His luck also started the moment he entered the cabin of the head of the production company and he was immediately chosen to play the role of Dr. Hansraj Hathi in the serial and worked on the show from 2008 until his death in 2018. .

On July 9, 2018, despite health issues, he was supposed to attend a meeting with the cast and producers of “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah”. But, fate had other plans and he suffered a massive heart attack on the same day and was rushed to Wockhardt Hospital in Mumbai where he breathed his last.
