Kelly Ripa Gets Her Makeup Tricks From Instagram!
In the episode of June 3 Living with Kelly and Markthe co-host showed off a lip makeup trick she learned on social media.
“I found this out on Instagram,” Ripa said during the broadcast. “It sounds crazy. Girls on Instagram do that, paint their entire upper lip brown. I don’t have that level of makeup skill, I just don’t have it.”
She went on to share her own technique: “So what I’ve been doing is putting on a brown eyeliner and lining the outside of my lip line, then filling it in and then regular like, MAC Spice or whatever your lip liner of choice is, and I follow beyond that.”

Ripa explained, “It’s like a double layer. So I’m actually producing a lip line.”
Her co-host and husband Mark Consuelos showered her with compliments when she finished, saying: “It’s beautiful, it’s beautiful. It really looks beautiful.”
Ripa kept it real, telling him, “What’s sad is when I take my makeup off and watch it disappear, it’s very, very alarming.”

Consuelos also talked about his new look this week. On Monday, June 1, he showed off his fresh haircut on the ABC talk show and said it looked “like a chinchilla!”

“I’ve never rubbed a real chinchilla, but I guess that’s what it feels like,” Ripa joked in response. “We should give everyone in the audience a chance… Look how I’m taking it all for granted, right? I’m taking it all for granted!”

Consuelos went on to note that he gets a haircut “every few years,” but this time he had to do a dramatic haircut to film a pilot for an unreleased TV show.

Last month, Ripa opened up about her disappointing experience covering up her gray hair. On the show, she complained that she was “still gray” after spending “11 teenage hours in the hair dye chair.”
“We sprayed my roots this morning,” she explained, explaining why you couldn’t actually see the gray hairs on the television screen. “We sprayed the roots with darkening spray. So I don’t know what to do at this point. Do I just go full Mrs. Claus or what am I doing?”
