Meet Kelly Wilkinson’s three children
Kelly Wilkinson’s three children, aged two to nine, endured unspeakable grief when their mother was brutally murdered in April 2021. Following Kelly’s death, her sister Danielle Carroll and her husband Rhys immediately took over the care of the children. Danielle and Rhys, along with their five children, welcomed Kelly’s children into their household, creating an extended family of 10. Despite the hardships of living in a crowded four-bedroom house, the couple lavished love on their children and created a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
Recognizing the plight of the Carroll family and Kelly’s children, businesswoman Tamika Smith came forward with a selfless gesture of compassion. Tamika Carroll, creator of My Bella Casa and Top 100 Women, and a member of the Carroll family, created the “I Stand With Kelly” campaign. She hoped to mobilize the community to help the Wilkinson children in their time of need. An unknown donor generously donated much-needed land, and the well-known construction company Metricon generously donated a complete home.
Despite the problems of the construction industry at the time, a determined team of builders and volunteers worked diligently for almost two years to make the dream of a new house a reality. A fully furnished seven bedroom villa on the outskirts of the Gold Coast has finally been built after much hard work and dedication. On a joyous Tuesday evening, the family presented their new home for the first time. The young people, who had spent the previous year observing the development of the house from a bare concrete slab, were overjoyed.
