Keltie Knight Wears Gloves to Critics Choice Awards After Losing 4-Ct. Ring: ‘Can’t Be Trusted to Wear Diamonds’

Keltie Knight’s Golden Globes started glamorously and ended tragically — but she bounced back in style for the Critics Choice Awards.

Hey! News reporter lost a 4-carat diamond on the red carpet at last week’s Golden Globes and documented her fruitless search for the stone. This time, she smartened up, opting for a dramatic gloved look for the red carpet on Sunday night.

Knight wore a black and red dress by Milan fashion brand The Rizkianto to the red carpet opening at Santa Monica Airport’s Barker Hangar. Her two-piece look featured a black turtleneck bodysuit and a sheer red lace skirt that sat high on either side of her hips and lower below her navel, falling in a short train around her feet.

She added a pair of long black gloves that fell just above her elbows and were a deliberate addition after last week’s diamond fiasco, as she jokingly wrote on Instagram, “I can’t believe I’m wearing 💎 on the carpet so I wore gloves.”

Knight opted for minimal jewelery throughout – possibly another deliberate move – but sported a sparkling silver bracelet on one wrist and a pair of chunky silver block earrings.

After Sunday’s diamond debacle, Knight told PEOPLE that the ring is brand new — and that it was a gift from her husband, Chris Knight, for their 10th anniversary. Luckily, it wasn’t her engagement ring.

I wore it every day because it was a more elegant design than my original ring, she said. “I actually slept in it the night before, because I’m so forgetful. I was worried I’d forget my Globes rings. I never sleep in rings.”

The LadyGang the podcast host also offered an update on the status of the ring.

“I dug deep, and based on my iPhone videos it was lost between the E! position on the red carpet and the photo area on the Globes carpet, which were honestly right next to each other,” she shared. “I had it in my hand when I was taking a selfie when I first got to our place, and by the time I was being photographed, it was already gone.”

Knight added, “I called E! Production and Hilton to have everyone double check, but I’m confident it’s probably caught on the bottom of someone’s shoe right now or stuck inside Jennifer Lopez’s rose robe!”

After realizing the diamond had fallen out of her ring while she was on the red carpet, Knight immediately shared her “Golden Globes emergency” on Instagram.

“If you’re a celebrity and you see a 4-carat diamond on the red carpet, bring it back to Keltie Knight in E!” she said in a selfie-style video. “Because he disappeared and, um… he’s real.”

She also included some clues in the video, hinting at where she last saw the diamond. “Clue #1: I had a diamond when I was done with my makeup because we cleaned it,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “When I was doing the photos, she wasn’t there.”

She later shared a photo of herself on her hands and knees looking for a rock on the red carpet – all while wearing a skin-tight dress and heels. Disappointingly, it came empty.

“I was preparing so much for the carpet and I was just focused on Jennifer Lawrence talking about The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City final!” she told PEOPLE. “There was no time to worry about the diamond.”
