As a school district superintendent, and also as a parent and community member, it is with a heavy heart that I write to confirm the untimely death of Kierra Reichert, who was a former student and graduate of Community School/MVSD.
Kierra was a standout, having recently completed her freshman year at the University of Nevada, Reno Honors College. She was not only academically gifted, but also a diligent and self-disciplined student, leaving a lasting impression on her teachers and peers.
During the summer months, Kierra spent precious time reconnecting with her loved ones while juggling two jobs: working full-time for the US Forest Service and part-time at Pony Express. She was someone who embraced life with spontaneity, fearlessness and a desire for adventure. Kierra was an accomplished athlete and adventurer, enjoying activities such as skiing, hiking and running in Alaska and the Methow Valley.
One of Kierra’s passions was horseback riding, where her love of animals, strength and determination came together. She had a kind and magnetic personality, touching the lives of everyone she met. Her friends fondly remember her as a goofball who was always ready for anything and never hesitated to express herself.
