Kim Kardashian has earned her Smash Mouth stamp.
On Wednesday, The Kardashians The 42-year-old star took to social media to take to social media in a metallic two-piece swimsuit – captioning the photo: “All that glitters is gold.”
It’s a common phrase, but famously quoted in the lyrics of Smash Mouth’s 1999 hit single “All Star” (which was released in conjunction with the superhero movie Mysterious peoplebut achieved greater success after appearing in the 2001 animated blockbuster Shrek).
Smash Mouth later reposted the image on X, formerly known as Twitter, adding a few more words from the anthem. “Just shooting stars,” the band wrote.
Their announcement follows the death of former Smash Mouth frontman Steve Harwell. The singer died of acute liver failure on Monday, September 4. He was 56 years old.
“Steve lived a 100% full life, burning brightly across the universe before he burned out,” the band wrote, in a tribute to Harwell. “Goodnight Heevo Veev. Rest in peace knowing you aimed for the stars and magically hit your target.”
Meanwhile, Kardashian’s viral golden moment followed another recent bold look.

Earlier this week, the reality TV star took to Instagram to post a recap from a carousel ride attending one of Beyoncé’s Los Angeles Renaissance World Tour concerts.
In the cover photo, the founder of SKIMS posed with her family — daughter North West, niece Penelope Scotland Disick and sister Khloé Kardashian. All the ladies wore silver, a special birthday request from Beyoncé herself.
“My birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most beautiful silver fashion at the fashion shows from 8/23 to 22/22!” – the Grammy winner said, in part, on her Instagram Story ahead of the last part of her world tour.
The “CHURCH GIRL” singer added that she wanted her audience to come dressed as a “glittering human disco ball every night.”

Kardashian’s carousel continued, showing the fam heading to SoFi Stadium in a chauffeured vehicle before meeting up with more family and friends for the evening — including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, his fiancee Lauren Sánchez, Kim’s mother Kris Jenner and her partner Corey Gamble.
“👑🐝,” Kardashian captioned the feed as a nod to Beyoncé’s “Queen Bey” moniker.
Kardashian is about to show off even more fun fashions this fall when she does American Horror Story debut.

Her role in the long-running FX horror anthology television series was first announced in April.
At the time, Emma Roberts, a veteran of the show, shared a teaser on Instagram, writing, “This summer…Kim and I are DELICATE #ahs #ahs12 @kimkardashian @ryanmurphyproductions 🕷️ 🤍 #delicate.”
Kardashian also shared a sneak peek, adding her intriguing caption: “👀🩸.”
“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we’re thrilled to welcome her to AHS family,” series co-creator Ryan Murphy said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter in that time.
Pictures later shared by the network show Kardashian posing with a giant spider, an insect she has adamantly admitted she was deathly afraid of in the past. However, in the 2020 episode Keeping up with the Kardashiansthe mother of four faced her fears when North wanted one for a pet.

The Kardashians AHS the 12th season series will be called “Delicate” and is based on the novel by Danielle Valentine Sensitive condition. It chronicles Anne Alcott, who is convinced that a “sinister figure” is “going to great lengths” to ensure she never gives birth, according to the novel’s description on Amazon.
The first trailer was released on Wednesday.
Kardashian will play Siobhan Walsh, the character who advises Roberts in the preview to “focus on the good” of her career as an A-list star — yet Roberts’ character, Alcott, longs to be a mother.
Cara Delevingne will also appear in the series as a nurse who notices something is wrong with Alcott’s unborn child.
Part 1 of American Horror Story: Delicate premieres September 20 on FX and can be streamed on Hulu the following day.
