Kim So-eun made her debut in 2004 when she played a small role in the South Korean film “Two Men” while she was still in middle school.
She played the supporting role of “Jang Da-mi” in the film “Fly, Dad, Fly” (2006). Her first leading role was in the South Korean film “Mourning” (2014), in which she played the female ghost “Se-hee”.
She also starred in the films Entagled (2014), Sky Lantern (2015), and Are We In Love? (2018).

In 2004, she made her acting debut in the Korean drama “Sea Sisters” where she played the role of “young Song Joon Hee”.
After that, she starred in many TV series such as “Sad Love Story” (2005), “Urban TV Series ‘First Love'” (2006), “Joseon Police Season 1” (2007) and “Empress Cheonchu” (2009). In 2009, she rose to fame with her role as “Chu Ga Eul” in the TV series “Boys Over Flowers” (2009).
She subsequently played lead roles in the hit Korean dramas Thousand Kisses (2011), Happy Ending (2012), Liar Game (2014), Scholar Who Walks the Night (2015), Our Gapsoon (2016-17), Special TV Series – You’re Closer Than I Think (2017), and Evergreen (2018). She made her debut in China with the web series Secret Angel, which aired on Sohu.com.
She has appeared in various shows like Music & Lyrics, Glitter, We Got Married: Season 4, and Wednesday Food Talk.
She also wrote the lyrics for the song “Sad Love” from the Korean drama “Feast of the Gods” (2012).
