Kimberly Williams-Paisley Says She Underwent Major Surgery After Struggling with Her Voice: 'Sounding So Much Better!'

Kimberly Williams-Paisley shares an update on her health after recent surgery.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, August 17, Father of the bride The 52-year-old star told her followers that she underwent surgery to repair laryngeal nerve damage after struggling with her voice for almost two years.

“I’ve been going through something,” Williams-Paisley captioned a carousel of photos of the actress lying in bed wearing a hospital gown and showing off a large scar on her neck. She included a warning image before the photo of the scar, which also featured a drawing of a face she said her brother drew over it with a felt-tip pen.

“Almost two years ago I lost my voice on stage at my Alzheimer’s event in Nashville. It was embarrassing and scary and it never quite came back,” Williams-Paisley continued in the post, explaining the origins of the health issue. “It’s been a challenging couple of years, but we’ve finally hit rock bottom.”

“I have damage to the laryngeal nerve,” she said and added that she tried “everything” to heal her voice herself, so she does not need the advice of her fans and followers.

“I was finally able to go into surgery this week at @vanderbilthealth with expert surgeons, and it sounds so much better!!” the Hallmark star wrote. “I have a bada** scar laughing across my neck.”

The We are Marshall the star had a busy summer despite his voice problems. In mid-July, she went for a “low-key” lunch with her friend Meghan Markle at Tre Lune in Montecito, California.

A day before she revealed she had the surgery, the mom of two teenage boys – who she shares with husband Brad Paisley – asked her Instagram followers for advice on parenting high school seniors.

“The sun has set on the summer of 2024 and I have my first HS senior this week!” she wrote a picturesque sunset photo.

She added: “Parents who have been there have done this: Send me all the wisdom. My eyes keep watering! 🙏🏻❤️😳.”
