On Wednesday, May 29, the model-turned-businesswoman, 49, shared a video of son Kenzo, 14, practicing dunks at basketball practice. In the background of the recording, the mother of five children can be heard cheering on her son as he successfully hits several dunks.

“My big old @kenxoklh is 6’7, 14 years old! He dunked from 13. Now the windmill! Wow! I am so proud of you my boy! Keep it up!🏀❤️🥺,” Simmons wrote alongside the photo.

“I’m a single mom of five and I know how hard it can be and I don’t want to start crying, but it’s Mother’s Day, I know what it’s like to raise your kids and get up every day and just take care of them,” Simmons told PEOPLE exclusively.

“And it doesn’t matter if you’re rich and famous or you’re this thing or this singer, that singer, at the end of the day, you’re a mom or you’re a cousin, you’re an aunt, you’re a family member, you’re a community person, a caregiver, you you’re just there trying to put it all together,” she continued.
