Kimora Lee Simmons had some special people by her side as she accepted an award this week.
On Wednesday, May 8, the 49-year-old entrepreneur was honored with the Goodwill Ambassador Award at the Smile Train Gala in New York. The mother-of-five was presented with the award by her two daughters, Aoki, 21, and Ming Lee, 24, smiling together as the three of them took to the stage.
Before the awards show, Simmons and her daughters posed together on the red carpet, pairing up in black ensembles. The proud mom wore a long black tank top and a silver skirt, while her daughter Ming Lee wore a long black dress with long sleeves. Aoki opted for a shorter, long-sleeved dress with a huge bow in the front.
“It’s always so exciting. We’re very, very close, we do everything together, whether it’s the red carpet, whether it’s fundraisers, charity events, family holidays, so to have them here and also to be supportive is really big deal,” Simmons tells PEOPLE of her children at the event.

Kimora Lee Simmons poses with all five kids as she celebrates Valentine’s Day: ‘Me and My Valentine’
Simmons boasts daughters Aoki and Ming Lee, as well as sons Kenzo, 14, Wolfe, 8, and Gary, 14.
In February, Simmons celebrated Valentine’s Day with all five of her children.
The proud mom posted a photo on her Instagram where she poses with the whole family. Wearing a sleeveless black dress, Simmons stood to the side next to daughter Ming Lee. On the other side of Ming Lee, sons Kenzo and Wolfe posed together, with son Gary in front of them. Daughter Aoki rounded out the family of five, stunning in a gold dress.
“Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! ♥️😍💋🍫💕 from me and my crushes!🥰❤️💕✨,” Simmons wrote in the caption.
Last January, the model celebrated her daughter Ming Lee’s 24th birthday, first sharing a comic of the mom and daughter’s photo booth snaps when Ming was younger. Other pictures show mom and daughter in more recent times, undeniably similar.
“Happy 24th birthday to my first born baby @mingleesimmons! 🎂🧁🤍 The love of my life, the one who made me a mom in the first place!” she wrote.
“My beauty inside and out! My #1 mini me. My royal pain in my a$$!” Simmons teased him. “I hope this year brings you everything you want and deserve! Mom loves you and I’m indescribably proud of you!!!! 🎈🎊🎁❤️🥂.”
