A new photo of King Charles has been released ahead of Burns Night.
The king, 76, was seen sporting a kilt in the official image, released by Buckingham Palace on Saturday, January 25, to mark the annual Scottish celebration honoring the birthday and life of Scottish poet Robert Burns.
In the photo, King Charles is wearing a waistcoat and suit jacket paired with a kilt made from the King Charles III Tartan.
It can be seen standing in the library of the Royal Family’s Balmoral House in Aberdeenshire.
The new picture was taken last autumn by beloved royal photographer Millie Pilkington, who has been used by Charles and Queen Camilla in the past, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton.

A new photo of the king was also posted on the royal family’s official Instagram page. “Wishing those celebrating a very happy #BurnSenight tonight,” the post’s caption read.

King Charles recently hosted his first official royal event of the year as he continues his cancer treatment during a Holocaust memorial and education event on January 13.
The King met three organizations dedicated to educating the next generation about the Holocaust at the event, which was held at Buckingham Palace in London to mark the upcoming Holocaust Remembrance Day.
On Monday 27 January, King Charles will travel to Poland on Holocaust Remembrance Day to visit the site of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp on the 80th anniversary of its liberation.
There he will meet with the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Duda, along with other world leaders.

Charles’ upcoming trip to Poland will be his fifth visit to the country, having last traveled there in 2008 with Camilla, 77.
