Kishore Pradhan was born on November 1, 1932 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India (died aged 86). He was born into a wealthy family and received a liberal education. Because his family has always supported his love for art while studying. As a schoolboy, he often watched theater rehearsals. He took his interests a step further and began working as a children’s artist in theater and radio. He has also acted in plays by renowned Marathi playwright and director Purushottam Darwhekar.
During his graduation, he started his theater career in Nagpur. Because he used to actively participate in college festivals. After graduation, when he came to Mumbai, he joined Glaxo Laboratories. His working life did not hinder his interest in theatre. He founded his own theater company Natraj.
He has also been associated with the Doordarshan channel since its inception in 1972. In the television industry, he is best known for co-hosting the show Gajra with his wife Shobha.
In 1987, due to his busy schedule, he decided to quit Marathi theater. He retired in 1994 after more than 25 years in various management positions. From then on, he devoted all his time to theater and acting. He is also a familiar face in the advertising world, having worked as a character model for over 15 years.

His father Amrutrao Pradhan alias Kakasaheb is a well-known pharmacist and the owner of Amrut Pharmacy, a pharmaceutical company in Nagpur. His mother, Malati Amrut Pradhan, was a famous theater actress and playwright. He is married to Shobha Pradhan.

In addition to his early interest in acting, he also excelled academically. He was educated in Nagpur and received his MA (Economics) from Morris College, Nagpur. After graduation, he worked as a research scholar at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. After completing his training, he started working with GlaxoSmithKline (then Glaxo Laboratories), one of the oldest multinational companies in India. Outside of work, he continued to write plays. His breakthrough as a theater artist came in 1970 with his first play, Kaka Kishacha. After a career spanning more than 25 years, he resigned from management roles in 1994; primarily to continue working in the acting field. Apart from writing more than 100 plays in Marathi and 18 plays in English, he has also acted in Marathi, Hindi and English films. He is best known for his work in “Jab We Met” with Kareena Kapoor, “Lage Raho Munnabhai” with Sanjay Dutt, and “Lage Raho Munnabhai” with Sachin Hurd “Me Shivaji Raje Bhosle Boltoy” with Sachin Khedekar.

He breathed his last on January 11, 2019, in Mumbai. The cause of his death is currently unknown. He was last seen in the Marathi film Shubh Lagna Saavdhaan (2018).
