She excels in studies and has been passionate about acting since she was a child. When Shahane reached class 9, she got the opportunity to perform in the folk ballet “Durga Zhaali Gauri”. It was after that moment that she decided to become an actress. Gradually, she began acting professionally in theater. When Kishori reached class 11, she played a role in the Marathi film “Prem Karuya Khullam Khulla” along with Ashok Saraf and (late) Laxmikant Berde. Thereafter, she enrolled in Mithibai College in Mumbai to pursue a degree in commerce. While in college, she was awarded the title “Miss Mithibai”. By the time Shahane graduated, she had done nearly 20 Marathi films.

Kishori Shahane started her acting career in 1987 with the Marathi film Prem Karuya Khullam Khulla. However, she shot to fame with ‘Maherchi Sadi’ and ‘Wajva Re Wajva’. Her performances in plays like “Moruchi Maushi” (Marathi) and “Aadhe Adhure” (Hindi) earned her recognition and established her status as an actor. In 2003, she participated in the Lady Gradela beauty pageant and won second place. Shahan has acted in several Marathi blockbusters including “Ek Daaw Dhobi Pachhad”, “Nawara Majha Nawasacha”, “Maherchi Sadi”, “Wajawa Re Wajawa”, “Prem Karuya Khullam Khulla” and “Balache Baap Bramhachari”.
