Piper’s marriage lasted until his death in 2015.
Toombs and Piper were married from 1982 until his death in 2015. Her husband survived cancer, electrocution, a plane crash and multiple accidents before dying in his sleep in July at the age of 61 at his summer home in Hollywood in California. According to the death certificate, he died as a result of cardiac arrest caused by hypertension, and pulmonary embolism also played a role.
Her husband is considered one of the best wrestlers of all time.
Piper said in a 2015 interview that it was gratifying to know that the industry projected him as the greatest heel in the history of the profession. He went on to say that fifth, if you do your job well, you’re the most despised, noting that you have to spend $20 for lunch at Denny’s so they don’t spit on your meal. Piper said his job was to make people dislike him and he was well trained to do so.
Since traveling from his home to the airport or public place was dangerous, he will be transported by the hotel’s service elevator. “The public doesn’t understand how much it takes to be a professional wrestler,” he said, “to be stabbed three times, once an inch from the heart.” His wife and the love of his children kept him alive; otherwise it would have failed long ago. They had their first child nine years after the wedding. His children turned a monster into a father, and he just wanted to be a decent father.
Mother of four children
He has four children with Piper, three girls, Ariel Teal, Anastacia Shea and Falon Danika, and one boy, Colton. Teal Piper, their daughter, is following in her father’s footsteps. She made her professional wrestling debut for All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and then joined Women of Wrestling (WOW). Teal and her brother, former MMA fighter Colt Baird Toombs, were working on a book titled “Rowdy: The Roddy Piper Story,” which their father wrote before his death to better understand himself.
The book describes his professional life. Teal and her brother wanted everything in the biography to be true and accurate. They want people to know who their father was outside of the ring because there were a number of incidents that may not have portrayed him in the best light, but that was part of who he was, and they wanted to come from a place of honesty, Teal stated. Teal also told the most important thing her father taught her.
“You have to live and breathe.” You have to do it all the time. You have to constantly improve your trade and be prepared.”
She said that as good as he was at improvisation, he put in a lot of effort behind the scenes.
When her husband was a wrestler, he never had a story.
Piper said on The Howard Stern Show in 2002 that he never had a plot other than the one in WCW when the referee handed him the order right before the bell rang, and that was the only script he got, but he gave it back to the person . It was only known that they wanted a joint final, whatever it was, and how you got there is the magic of wrestlers, he said.
He also said that when John Carpenter asked him to make the movie “They Live” in 1998, Vince McMohan Jr. got angry and said he would have another movie for him. He then sent him a communication through his lawyer stating that Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon were the only two WWE tries. The feud started when he got the movie and refused to go along with what Vince McMohan Jr. suggested. because he worked on the film with John Carpenter. He was then asked to leave WWE.
