Krishan Kumar

Krishan Kumar is an Indian actor and film producer. He is best known for his role as Sundar Sehgal in the Hindi musical thriller Bewafa Sanam (1995). He is the younger brother of Gulshan Kumar, the founder of T-Series (Super Cassette Industry). Krishan is one of the key figures at T-Series, India’s largest music label and film studio.

Krishan Kumar, also known as Krishan Kumar Dua, was born in Daryaganj, Shahjahanabad. His family originates from Jhang, West Punjab, and his parents migrated to Delhi as refugees in 1947 following the anti-Hindu riots during the partition of India.

Krishan Kumar made his debut as a film producer with the Hindi film Lucky: No Time for Love (2005). He went on to produce many hit films such as Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006), Darling (2007), Nautanki Saala! (2013), Airlift (2016), Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) and Marjaavaan (2019). In 2019, a woman filed a sexual harassment complaint against Krishan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar at Mumbai’s Oshiwara police station. Later, Krishan Kumar of Amboli police station also lodged a complaint against the women. Hours after filing the complaint, the woman withdrew her complaint, saying she had made “false accusations” against them out of “frustration” and “depression.”

  • Apparently, Gulshan Kumar has dreamed of becoming an actor since his childhood. However, due to family financial constraints, he was unable to realize his dream. When Gulshan shot to fame with T-Series, he produced a film and launched his brother Krishan Kumar in the hope that Krishan would become a superstar one day. However, most of Krishan’s films failed.
  • After the death of his younger brother Gulshan Kumar, Krishan Kumar fell into a deep depression. He gave up his acting career and began taking care of his brother’s children.
