Kristin Davis Throws It Back to an Iconic Sex and the City Affirmation on Her 59th Birthday: ‘I’m a Catch!’

Kristin Davis is taking a trip down memory lane for her 59th birthday!

On Friday, Sex and the city The alum shot to fame by sharing a clip from her early days on the comedy drama that debuted on HBO in 1998.

“I’m nice, I’m beautiful and I’m smart! I’m the catch!” her character Charlotte York said in the scene. Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, agrees with her dear friend’s claims.

“Yeah, you’re a catch,” Carrie says with a smile.

Earlier this month, Davis spent time at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust nursery in Nairobi, Kenya, where she was reunited with an elephant she met in November 2014 named Ndotto.

“I was in a mud bath and I didn’t realize that the tall, handsome bull standing behind me was Ndotto!” she told PEOPLE exclusively. “Then he raised his trunk to greet me and I realized that the tiny baby had grown into a magnificent elephant. I was so amazed and impressed with him. And he still has his sweet personality.”

Similar to her SATC character, who always had a big heart, Davis added that she can never forget the “first time she met” the “sweet and lovely” young animal.

Although Davis started her birthday month with a trip, it wasn’t that long ago SATC also celebrated an important birthday! In June, the television series turned 25 years old.

The cult show ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004. For years, fans watched the fashion forwards — Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) — as they navigated their friendships, dating and careers in the Big Apple.

“The whole whole ride Sex and the city it was one surprise after another,” Davis told PEOPLE in 2016. “We never thought we’d really be a hit. We didn’t think we’d win an Emmy, we didn’t think we’d make one film, much less another film.”

After the series ended, two feature films, Sex and the city (2008) and Sex and the city 2 (2010), were released. Such was the short television predecessor, The Carrie Diaries from 2013 to 2014.

In 2021, SATC the gang returned for a new spinoff that saw the women later in life.

Although Cattrall did not reprise her role in the first season, she finally appeared on the show with a cameo in the second season finale.

“We didn’t really want the information to get out,” Davis said in an interview with Today in July. “We wanted it to be a surprise.”

“We want to give the fans what they want. We were trying to figure out a way to do it, and this is the way it made sense with the story and the situation,” she added.

2nd season AJLT concluded in September 2023. The series was renewed for a third season.
