Krithi Krithivasan aka K. Krithivasan was born in 1965 in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (58 years old as of 2023). He studied at ER High School in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. He graduated from the Polytechnic Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1986, he pursued a master’s degree in industrial and management engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

In 1989, Krithivasan joined Tata Consultancy Services in New Delhi. At TCS, he held senior positions in various departments including delivery, customer relationship management and sales. Krithivasan assists key clients with IT project governance, creating value beyond cost minimization, accelerating change management cycles and digital transformation. Prior to his appointment as CEO of Tata Consultancy Services, he served as group president and global head of TCS Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) business. He worked with TCS in Los Angeles before moving to Chennai. On March 16, 2023, he was appointed as the designated CEO of TCS after Rajesh Gopinathan resigned as Managing Director and CEO of TCS. It is said that he will take charge as Managing Director and CEO of TCS on September 15, 2023. Krithivasan is also a member of the Board of Directors of TCS Iberoamerica, TCS Ireland and a member of the Supervisory Board of TCS Technology Solutions AG.

- After being appointed as MD and CEO of TCS, Krithivasan will become one of the oldest CEOs to head an ITES company.
- Krithivasan worked with TCS Chennai. He was asked in an interview what was the bigger challenge for him: becoming the CEO of TCS or moving to Mumbai. Hearing this, Kritivasan smiled and said:
Moving to Mumbai because leaving Chennai was a difficult decision. “
