KR$NA is an Indian rapper, producer and songwriter. He was one of the first rappers to emerge on the desi hip hop scene in the mid-2000s. In 2019, he played himself in the Bollywood movie “Gully Boy”. His writing and rapping skills are popular in the rap industry. He became popular in 2010 with the song “Kaisa Mera Desh” which was trending on YouTube at that time.

KR$NA was born Krishna Kaul on Sunday, October 4, 1987 in New Delhi (age 35; as of 2022). His zodiac sign is Libra. During his childhood, he went to South London and attended school there. In his school, students from several rival gangs study together. They fought each other with guns and knives, causing difficulties for him and other students who were not affiliated with any gangs. According to KR$NA, he found a way to integrate rap into the culture and people of South London. Later, he became more interested in rap and hip-hop and continued to participate in rap competitions. At the age of 18, he recorded his first rap album. He graduated from Delhi University and went on to pursue postgraduate studies at St Xavier’s College, Delhi.

In 2006, Kaur began writing songs and posting them to his MySpace profile. By 2008, he had developed a small following in New Delhi and was being noticed by musicians from the United States and Canada. He then returned to India and started rapping in college, where he formed a group he called the Illicit Cash Mob (ICM). In 2010, he released the music video “Kaisa Mera Desh”, which became the first Indian hip-hop song on YouTube. After its release, the video rose to the second position on the list of most viewed videos in India. In 2013, he changed his stage name from Prozpekt to KR$NA, which is his current stage name.

In 2006, he released a sample of the song “I Want it All” by the British rock band Queen. The same year, he participated in the remix of the song “Bitch Please”, originally written by American rapper Eminem. In 2007, he released the original song “I Go Go”, a collaboration with Soldier Hard. In 2016, Krishna made a comeback after a two-year hiatus with the Hindi song “Vyanjan”. After the success of the song, he signed a contract with DNH (now KALAMKAAR) artist management company in 2017, and later became a partner of the agency in 2018. He has collaborated with many American artists. In January 2021, American rapper Hi-Rez released the song “Crossroads”, in which Krsna sang with another American rapper Royce da 5’9″. In July 2021, he sang on another song by Hi-Rez Featuring lead vocals on the song “Playground”. In 2018, Rafta asked this question in an interview,
Rapper paisa Kama paa rahe hain? Emiway jo hai apni taraf se sab laga hua hai, he is not making money now. “
After that, Raftar and Aimwe Bantay started talking and singing in sequence. Later, when Emiway released “Daawat” and claimed to represent India, KR$NA responded with “Langar”, surprising everyone present and quickly taking over. Emiway had no answer, so KR$NA released another diss song, “Seedha Makeover,” which became popular in the hip-hop world.
After he released several diss tracks against Emiway, Insane of BEARDGANG from Greater Noida, India started making diss tracks against KR$NA.
They gave a shout out to KR$NA on his Instagram DM after he signed with Kalamkaar. KR$NA later responded and invited them to arrange a meeting with these “softies” (by which he meant so-called cyber gangsters).They asked KR$NA to meet them at the Paris Bazaar, but no one showed up; thus, the issue was resolved

Against Mufad
In 2020, Mufad claimed in an interview,
Krishna Behti Ganga I Hasidola Ha Hai. “
This statement sparked a feud between Muhfaad and KR$NA. KR$NA later released the song “UNTITLED,” which contained a subtle attack on Muhfaad. After the single, Muhfaad responded with his diss track “Bitch I am a GOD” and from that point on, Muhfaad and KR$NA started a war of diss tunes. KR$NA and Muhfaad responded to each other by posting “MAHARANI” and “MOKSH” respectively. In Makasam, Kaul has released his best diss song. After KR$NA released Makasam, Muhfaad released “Bhoot Banega” as his final response. From the perspective of most viewers, KR$NA won the argument.

Allegation: IPL copied my song
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most anticipated sporting events in India. Many were surprised to find that the new IPL 2020 anthem was indeed very recognizable when it was released. The song “Hum Wapas Ayenge” sounded very similar to “Dekh Kaun Aaya Wapas”, which they had heard before on the YouTube channel of Krsna, one of India’s first well-known rappers. When his fans first heard the song, they tagged Krishna, and after realizing what was going on, he said:
It took me a while to actually realize that IPL had actually plagiarized my song. While plagiarism is common, you wouldn’t expect people like IPL and Disney Hotstar to plagiarize your songs. Although they changed the wording of the verses, the hook is almost identical. From “Dekh Kaun Aaya Wapas” to “Hum Wapas Ayenge”. It is strange that big names like IPL and Disney Hotstar do not have necessary checks and safeguards against plagiarism,” he added.
His team sent a legal notice to the IPL organizers. Pranav Ajayrao Malpe, the creator of the IPL anthem, has denied all the allegations, saying that the song is authentic and has even been certified as original by the Music Composers Association of India (MCAI). Pranav said,
I was shocked. My work is original and not inspired by the work of any other artist. It was created through hard work and effort by me and my team. ”

- Krishna played himself in the 2019 musical film Gully Boy. When asked about starring in the film, he replied:
I got a call from the manufacturer. I happened to be the only rapper from Delhi in the film and I think the reason behind that was that I had been in the rap scene for a long time and had seen how it had grown in Delhi and Mumbai, so they felt they needed to cast me in a certain ways to get involved. I don’t know if this counts as my entry into Bollywood because it’s a film about hip-hop and I’m just playing myself.

It’s a good experience. I was a little nervous at first because making a movie was a new experience and very different from the music videos I usually shoot. Man, I’ve been doing this metaphor, reference, word play for years. I feel like it comes naturally to me because I’ve been doing it for a long time. People think a lot of effort went into it, but honestly there wasn’t. It’s just that when you write, when you’re in the flow of things, sometimes it just…I can’t explain it, but it comes together. In some ways, when I write a punch line, I approach it like I would a stand-up comedy. Sometimes you have the punchline, but you don’t have the substance behind it. Sometimes I’ll come up with a punchline or a simple reference, but I don’t know what’s behind it. So I went to reverse engineer it.
