Kuldeep started playing cricket at the age of thirteen. His domestic team is Madhya Pradesh. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast bowler. His coach is Ariel Anthony. In November 2018, he made his debut for Madhya Pradesh in a Test match against Tamil Nadu in Dindigul and lifted the Ranji Trophy. In the tournament, he took a total of 7 wickets in the Elite B third round match against Punjab, two of which came in the second round, and was the Man of the Match.

- At the age of 16, he joined the Vindhya Cricket Academy where he trained with senior Indian pacer Ishwar Pandey. Ishwar realized that Kuldeep was very talented and gave him a lot of support throughout his journey. Kuldeep said in an interview that Ishwar bought a new pair of spikes for the match as he could not afford new shoes. Later, his fees were borne by the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Academy.

- Kuldeep’s father worked as a barber in Rewa’s salon. His father could only pay for his child’s education and when he came to know that Kuldeep wanted to become a cricketer, he scolded and beat him. In an interview, his father said of him:
I don’t have time to eat today. There are many customers. I’ve been doing this for the past 30 years. I’m happy for my son. He makes me proud. I never supported his passion for the game. When he was playing cricket in school, I scolded and beat him for playing cricket, but he never gave up on his dream. “
