Amid NBA player Malik Beasley’s budding romance with Larsa Pippen, many fans are wondering who his estranged wife is. Here’s everything we know about Montana Yao and how she feels about his relationship with the former family friend of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians clan.
Larsa has been in hot water the last two months over her fallout with the KUWTK family, as well as her newfound romance with married pro athlete Malik Beasley. She was first spotted with him walking hand-in-hand on a shopping date in Miami. At the time, the media labeled him a “mystery man,” but it didn’t take too long before he was identified as a very-much-married Minnesota Timberwolves player. When the photos surfaced online, Malik’s estranged wife claimed she was “blindsided” by her husband’s infidelity. She filed for divorce shortly after and Malik and Larsa have become more comfortable with showing off their romance online. While Larsa claimed on Twitter both she and Malik were separated from their spouses at the time they started dating, Montana has since denied her claims and called her a liar.
With her being a current trending topic, fans have become more interested in who Montana Yao is. Montana grew up loving basketball and watching Lakers games with her father. After meeting Malik in 2018, the couple welcomed their son a year later in March 2019. Montana was charged with fifth-degree drug possession in September after Malik threatened a family with an assault rifle. When cops showed up to search their home, police found two pounds of marijuana, which is illegal in Minnesota. It resulted in drug charges for the couple along with felony threats of violence against Malik. Since filing for divorce from the pro baller, Malik and Larsa have gotten that much closer and have even started sharing photos together online.
Sources close to the former star of The Real Housewives of Miami say she did know Malik was married, but was under the impression he was headed for a divorce….which ultimately turned out to be true.
