Kyle Richards Says Her Separation from Mauricio Umansky Has Been ‘Too Much to Deal with’ in the ‘Public Eye’

Kyle Richards gets candid about how she handled her public split from Maurici Umanski.

While talking to her fans in an Amazon Live session, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star admitted that managing her relationship with her estranged husband was difficult for several reasons.

“It’s a very loaded question,” the 54-year-old admitted after a fan asked him how they were doing. “You know this was very hard to do [because] he plays with so many people watching us and [with us] to be in public.”

“We obviously care a lot about each other,” she added, before noting that the couple had recently returned from an Italian vacation with the whole family.

Although she implied that she and Umansky, 53, were on good terms, Richards refrained from sharing any details and admitted that it was “too much to handle right now.”

On July 3, PEOPLE confirmed the duo’s decision to separate after 27 years of marriage.

“Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for some time, but they still live under the same roof,” a source close to the couple said at the time. “They have remained amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family.”

Richards first met Umansky at a nightclub in 1994. At the time, Richards was divorced from her first husband, Guraish Aldjufrie, with whom she had a daughter, Farrah Brittany (née Aldjufrie), 34.

After becoming engaged later that year, the couple married in January 1996 and had three daughters: Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15.

Last week, Umansky posted a family photo on Instagram from their trip to Italy featuring his estranged reality star wife.

“Summer vacation 2023 in place,” the Buying Beverly Hills broker captioned a photo of him and Richards posing with their daughters, as well as Alexia’s boyfriend, Jake Zingerman.

The family traveled through the Italian peninsula. Richards shared clips of the picturesque sunset on her Instagram story from Isola di Panarea, a small island off the coast of Sicily. She also shared a post from the celebrity-favourite island of Capri, sitting on a boat with her four daughters.

Shortly after the news of their separation, The Halloween is ending star talked about how her daughters handled things in an Amazon Live session in July.

Revealing how her daughters were “holding on”, she added: “You know, they’re really strong.”

“Listen, they know we all love each other and they’re old enough to understand that everything isn’t perfect all the time and that’s okay regardless of being loved,” Richards said at the time.
