Taylor began his career assisting Tesfaye in innovative video production. He also oversaw the aesthetic and visual elements of the Weeknd’s two new projects, Thursday and Echoes of Silence. Both were released under the XO label, where Taylor serves as creative director. He also oversees Tesfaye’s live performances and controls her marketing and branding, including album art and merchandise. In 2017, his working relationship with Tesfaye landed him on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for music.
Taylor and Ahmed Ishmail co-founded the HXOUSE (pronounced “house”) incubator in 2018. The facility is a 30,000-square-foot building near Toronto’s waterfront that offers studio space and low-cost recording, creation and production equipment for young artists.
