She had a passion for acting from an early age and appeared in cough syrup commercials at a very young age. At the age of seven, she played the role of Cosette in the Broadway musical Les Misérables for two years before making her big screen debut.

On October 11, 1998, Lacey paid for $250 worth of meals at the 5th Annual Celebrity Servers Dinner at the Palms Restaurant in Los Angeles. Proceeds went to the “Beat the Violence” campaign, which encourages people to identify and counteract the root causes of violence. In 2011, she joined Angel 34, a nonprofit that helps children battling cancer. In 2020, Lacey Chabert participated in “Hope Shines Invisibly,” a virtual fundraiser organized by the New Day Family Foundation in Rochester Hills.
