It’s in January Give them Lala the podcast host opened up to PEOPLE about her desire to give her daughter a sibling.

“I think Ocean is going to go crazy when another baby comes along because she’s obsessed with babies and I think she’s going to be extremely hands-on,” Kent said at the time.

When asked where she is on her fertility journey, Kent teased, “We’re on a journey! We’re actually kicking our ass full steam ahead.”

A few weeks later, Kent said Cosmopolitan that she began the process of conceiving a second child through intrauterine insemination (IUI) — a treatment where sperm is surgically placed in the uterus to fertilize an egg.

Noting that she had friends who went through the process but were in “great relationships,” the reality TV star — who is single and going through the process with a donor — said “when my life took a completely different turn, I knew I want more children.”

“It was such a weird thing that was happening because everyone would tell me, ‘You’re going to find someone.’ And I started thinking, ‘Why does my desire for more children have to include another person?'”

The reality star shared that she decided to undergo IUI because she wanted to take control of her situation.

“I’m not going to risk having my child,” she says. “And I just don’t think that finding a partner and falling in love with someone has anything to do with bringing a child into the world.”

Kent’s biggest advice to other women is to bet on yourself.

“If you want kids and you’re just waiting for ‘that person’ to come into your life, let’s talk about a different path we can take. It’s 2024! There are many ways to have a child, and you don’t need a man to do it,” she said.
