Lance Bass is celebrating a special milestone with husband Michael Turchin.
The *NSYNC singer (44) just celebrated nine years of marriage with Turchin (36) with a sweet post on Instagram.
Bass wrote a heartfelt message for her husband of nearly a decade alongside photos of their 2014 wedding – the first televised same-sex marriage ceremony.

“Nine years fly by when you’re having fun!!” he started. “On this day, and every day, I am reminded why we are destined for each other. Happy anniversary to the love of my life!”
“Spending the future with you has never been more exciting!” he finished. “I love you.”
While Bass and Turchin have been married for nine years, they have been dating for 12.
In 2021, the couple not only celebrated 10 years as a couple, but also welcomed their two-year-old twins, son Alexander James and daughter Violet Betty, via surrogate.
That same year, Bass told PEOPLE that the key to his and Turchin’s lasting marriage is “just [being] understanding, allowing them to be who they are and not trying to change someone.”

“I think you are who you are and you just have to accept them for who they are,” the father of two told PEOPLE. “There’s beauty in the differences you have, and we have a lot of differences that intrigue me.”
Added Bass: “I think that’s what attracted me to it [Turchin] in the first place, it was that we had such different lives and different talents.”

Long before they said “I do” and welcomed their children, the couple started off strictly platonic, Turchin recalled to PEOPLE in 2014.
“We just started talking and started hanging out as friends,” the artist said at the time. “I’m so shy and would never make the first move.”
“I was like, ‘This is Lance Bass. I grew up watching him on TV and listening to his music,'” which “just added another layer of intimidation,” he added.

Eventually, the now-husbands developed feelings for each other, but it took some time for them to solidify their relationship.
“I was attracted to him and I wanted to take things further, but I was convinced he didn’t love me … So I focused on becoming such a good friend that I wouldn’t be able to look at him any other way,” Bass told PEOPLE. . “We spent every day together for a month before I did, but I finally agreed to that first kiss.”

Recalling the awkwardness that started it all, Turchin said, “It was such an organic, non-forced situation. We just knew each other well by the time we got to that point.”
“We had a great foundation to build on,” he added.
