Lara McDonnell was born on Friday, November 7, 2003 (16 years old in 2020) in Dublin, Ireland. From a young age, she had a passion for acting. Lara was only 11 years old when she played the role of “Matilda” in the musical “Matilda”. She was often traveling to the United States and the United Kingdom for work, so she was home-schooled.

Although Laura MacDonald has not revealed anything about her family, in an interview after the release of Artemis Fowl, she said,
My family was so lovely. They made a big deal out of it. We all dressed up and sat down to watch the movie together. The next night, my brother and sister wanted to see it again, so we did.”

Laura began her acting career playing the role of “Matilda” in the famous musical “Matilda” in the Royal Shakespeare Company in London’s West End. Later, in 2014, she played “Young Rosie” in the romantic comedy film “Love, Rosie”.
Her other credits include the roles of “Young Anne” in “Walking Invisible: The Brontës” (2016) and “Alana” in “The Illegal Season” (2018). In 2020, she shot to fame with her role as “Captain Holly Short” in the Disney sci-fi adventure film “Artemis Fowl”.

I’m a huge fan of books like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings, so Artemis Fowl is perfect for me.
