On one occasion, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, a lawyer and the younger son of Mir Jan Muhammad, a freedom fighter from colonial India, and he Shah Nawaz Khan, his cousin who serves as an officer in the Indian National Army, was out for a walk. During World War II, near the India Gate in Delhi, they saw a car lying on the road. Lateef Fatima Khan and her family members were injured in a car accident. Mir Taj Mohammad and Shah Nawaz Khan rushed the entire family to the hospital and saved their lives. Lateef Fatima Khan was injured in a car accident and needed blood. Mir Taj Mohammad saved her life by donating blood. After recovering, Iftikhar Ahmed decided to marry his eldest daughter to Mir Taj Muhammad. When he went to Mir Taj Mohammad to propose marriage, his eldest daughter refused and said he would marry the woman to whom he gave blood. At that time, Lateef Fatima Khan was engaged to a cricketer named Abbas Ali Baig. Since Mir Taj Muhammad saved the lives of Iftikhar Ahmed and his family, he broke off the engagement and agreed to marry Mir Taj Muhammad. In 1959, Lateef Fatima Khan married Meer Taj Mohammed Khan.
Mir Taj Mohammed Khan was a Pathan from Peshawar, Pakistan. He was a highly educated man who fluently spoke four different languages, including Punjabi, Pashto, Sanskrit and Persian, besides English and Hindi. He holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws. He is a businessman and owns a transportation company. He was also involved in politics. At the age of sixteen, he became India’s youngest independence activist. He was part of the Satyagraha Khudai Khidmatgar (1933-1937) movement, which fought against India under the leadership of Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan (also known as “Frontier Gandhi”) The British in the North West Frontier Province. He also lost the election against senior Indian National Congress leader Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. After the partition of India in 1947, Mir Taj Mohammad Khan decided to leave Peshawar and moved to New Delhi in 1948. After getting married in 1959, Mir Taj Mohammed Khan and his wife Lateef Fatima Khan began living in a rented apartment in New Delhi’s Rajendra Nagar neighborhood. There he started several businesses, including an Indian restaurant. He died of cancer in 1922.

Lateef Fatima Khan died in 1990 due to complications from diabetes and a long illness. She died before her son Shah Rukh Khan made his Bollywood debut. Shah Rukh Khan revealed in an interview that he was unprepared for the news of his mother’s death, saying:
