Laura Dern is sending a very special birthday tribute to her mother Diane Ladd for her big day!
“For my mother, inspiration and other sassy Sagittarius… I love you with everything. Happy birthday @rosedianeladd,” the Jurassic Park said the 56-year-old star as she celebrated her mother’s 88th birthday.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Dern shared a black-and-white portrait Wild at heart actress in her younger days.

For Ladd’s previous birthday, Dern also took to social media to pay tribute to the Oscar nominee.
“Happy birthday, Goddess Mom!” the Big little lies the talent captioned a selfie of the two of them smiling in red swimsuits. “You are my endless inspiration and the best friend I go swimming with!! And simply the best actor EVER!”

Dern’s father is Bruce Dern, who also has an Oscar nomination.
And the apple in their family certainly doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Dern’s daughter Jaya, who shares a birthday with Ladd, is also interested in acting.
“Happy birthday to my brilliant, hilarious, sassy, honest, radical, inspiring, goddess girl,” Dern wrote on Instagram Tuesday, tagging Jay’s photo. She also included a recent photo of herself and her daughter, who she shares with ex-husband Ben Harper.

In the December 2022 episode of the series The Ellen DeGeneres ShowDern admitted that she would like to one day star in a project with her youngest child, who is now 18.
“There’s something very moving about it,” she told host Ellen Degeneres. “Jaya is 17 and I started very young at 11 but I’m so happy that she’s waiting and she wants to go to school but she really knows in her heart that she wants to act.”
“And maybe if he does, we’ll have the privilege of working together,” Dern added.

In the meantime, she announced a project with Ladd that was close to both of their hearts.
