Lauren London's 2 Children: All About Kameron and Kross

Lauren London’s children, Kameron Carter and Kross Ermias Asghedom, have motivated her throughout her career.

London had her first son, Kameron, with rapper Lil Wayne in 2009. She then welcomed another son, Kross, with her partner Nipsey Hussle in 2016. In March 2019, when Kross was only 2 1/2 years old, his father was murdered outside his clothing store in Los Angeles. The Victory lap the rapper was 33 years old.

After Hussle (born Ermias Asghed) was killed, London took time to mourn. But she also decided to refocus on her career when the time came and her sons were supportive.

“We can’t stop, you know?” London said Party tonight in 2021. “We have a purpose, all of us, and it’s important for my sons to see me moving forward with grief, not just curling up in a ball, because I’ve been curling up in a ball for a long time.”

Actress — whose first role after Hussle’s death was in a film No remorse opposite Michael B. Jordan — narrated Party tonight that he wants to continue to progress with his career, especially for Cameron. “[H]I’m just a little more aware,” she said of her older son. “But we’ll move on as we had to, like he did [Hussle] he would like us to.”

London continues to pay tribute to Hussle in interviews and on her social media — she also frequently posts about her children. Just over a year after Hussle’s death, London took to Instagram to share her gratitude for motherhood. “It is an absolute honor to be their mother. This love saved me. Peace to all moms,” London wrote under a photo of her sons in arms.

Although she rarely shares photos of them online, London posted a selfie with Kameron and Kross on Instagram in honor of Mother’s Day 2024. She wrote: “I’m just a portal. They are constant reminders of God’s love. Balm for a pure heart. Honor me is to be their mom.”

Cameron Carter, 14

London and rapper Lil Wayne welcomed their son, Kameron Carter, on September 9, 2009. When he was 1½ years old, You People star talked about her child on the red carpet at Essence magazine event.

“Sometimes I look at him, and I’m like ‘what did I do to deserve you?’ ” she told Rolling Out. “He’s amazing. He’s everything. Of everything in the world, that’s my purpose. This [my career] is great.” The actress continued, “But that little boy is the reason I was born, for sure.”

Kameron also started attending his own events. In July 2022, Kameron went to the ESPY Awards with his father and walked the red carpet. The father-son duo was also seen watching a basketball game.

During a cute moment in the podcast All about smoke, just as the rapper started the episode, his son Kameron called to say good night. “I’m so sorry, just a moment,” he told the host. – It’s Killa, it’s Kam, he’s going to sleep. Lil Wayne took the call and said, “Good night boy, I love you.”

Kameron also had a relationship with Hussle, whom his mom started dating in 2013. At Hussle’s memorial in April 2019, 9-year-old Kameron told the story of seeing the late rapper in a dream.

“I was in paradise playing in the ocean water when Ermias jumped right behind me. He said, ‘What’s up, killa,’ ’cause that’s my nickname for him,” Cameron shared. “I turned around, shouted his name and hugged him.” He added: “I told my mom about the dream and after I told her I thought about it. And I realized that Ermias told me what heaven was like. He told me it was heaven.”

In November 2023, London opened up about parenting through her grief and giving Cameron space in his teenage years.

“I was as open with them about the grieving process as I could be. Now I’m more compassionate as a mother,” London said on Today show. “I have a teenager now, so I’m doing both work with the inner child and the teenager.”

Kross Ermias Asghedom, 7

London and Hussle welcomed their son, Kross Ermias Asghedom, on August 31, 2016. Shortly after Kross was born, London shared a photo of her new baby holding her hand on Instagram.

“And then you came,” she wrote in the description. “Last week I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy and happy baby boy. Blessed.” Hussle posted the same image, and wrote simply, “KROSS 8.31.16.”

In the years after Hussle’s death, London continued to honor him. On Father’s Day in June 2019, she shared a photo of herself, Hussle and Kross, writing: “One of the reasons I fell in love with you… Your fatherhood. Today we celebrate you. I love you Ermias.” (Hussle also has a daughter, Emani Asghedom, from a previous relationship.)

When Kross turned 5 in 2021, London shared a photo of him on Instagram, captioning it: “Kross The Boss! My baby is 5. My Lighthouse. My Strength. Love 💙 BabyHussle.”

In August 2021, This Christmas the actress posted Hussle’s birthday on Instagram and said Kross gave her a sweet reminder. “Happy birthday my king!” she wrote. “I love you today and I miss you forever just apart [sic] my DNA and I wear it with honor. Kross reminded me that you have a ’36’ like me.”

The following year, Hussle received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Kross was in attendance with his mother. He also made a public appearance with members of his family two years earlier at the BET Awards when Hussle was posthumously presented with a humanitarian award.
