Arrington is a husband and father of two children. His wife, Trishia Johnson-Arrington, is the love of his life. The couple met during one of LaVar’s charity events in Washington, DC. When Trishia first saw LaVar, she was instantly smitten. But at that time she had no idea who he was and had to question her friends about him. But she was unhappy because at that time there was a lot of bad news about football players. After that, she became rude to him, refusing to take a picture with him when he asked.

On June 18, 2007, LaVar was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in suburban Maryland. He lost control of his 2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 and crashed into a guardrail on the Route 50 Capital Beltway ramp. When he was taken to the hospital, he was in critical condition, suffering from a crushed forearm, broken lower vertebrae and large cuts on his leg. But, luckily, he managed to recover. Now he lives a happy and healthy life.
