LeBron James’ Son Bryce Receives Offer to Play Basketball at Ohio State: ‘Blessed’

Bryce James could soon be a Buckeye!

The 16-year-old son of NBA legend LeBron James revealed Saturday that he has received an offer to play basketball at Ohio State University in Columbus, just 125 miles from where his father was born and raised in Akron.

“Blessed to receive an offer from Ohio State #GoBuckeyes“, the teenager wrote further x with a picture of the school logo.

Bryce also shared photos on Instagram of himself wearing a red Ohio State jersey, including a photo with his mom, Savannah James.

“Buckeye nation⚪️🔴how are we feeling?” he captioned the post.

According to ESPN, Bryce’s offer comes on the same day he took an unofficial visit to Ohio State’s campus, where he watched the football team win 37-17 against the University of Maryland, College Park’s Terrapins.

Videos shared on X show Bryce talking to head men’s basketball coach Chris Holtmann on the sidelines, where his mother could also be seen.

ESPN currently has Bryce — a junior enrolled at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif. — ranked as a four-star recruit, averaging 7.6 points in 15 games during the Nike EYBL 16U circuit over the spring and summer.

The media reported that Bryce’s older brother, Bronny, visited Ohio State last year before finally signing to play basketball at the University of Southern California.

LeBron celebrated Bronny’s 19th birthday with a sweet tribute to his oldest child on Friday.

“On and off the field you are 🐐 @bronny!! Happy birthday son!!! I love you ♾️ child. Keep going!” the former Los Angeles Lakers star wrote on Instagram alongside photos of the couple.

LeBron James shares update on son Bronny after cardiac arrest, says 18-year-old had ‘successful surgery’

Bronny’s 19th birthday comes after he went into cardiac arrest during practice at USC in July.

A month later, a spokesperson for the James family shared in a statement to PEOPLE that Bronny was diagnosed with an “anatomically and functionally significant congenital heart defect” that “can and will be treated.”

Jovan Buha from The Athletic wrote on Monday x that LeBron said his son is “doing very well” after the surgery, adding that he has begun “his rehab to get back on the floor this season.”

“We’re happy to see where he is and what the future holds for him,” LeBron added, according to Buha’s post.

Along with Bryce and Bronny, LeBron has a daughter Zhuri Nova (8) with his wife Savannah (37).
