COMEDIAN Lee Mack has hit out at TV viewers “offended” by his jokes.
The popular prankster was speaking after winning this week’s NTA, where his risqué on-stage joke about Jill Scott prompted calls from some viewers for him to be “cut off”.

Lee, 55, was scooped the gong for best quiz by the Lioness and I’m A Celebrity winner and joked: “To receive a sex toy like this from Jill Scott is an absolute pleasure.”
Speaking to The Sun about his pranks with contestants on The 1% Club, Lee said: “My job as a stand-up comedian is to take the mickey out of the contestants.
“I decided I was never going to be too mad about it. I just wanted to try and have a little laugh.
“It’s like a gig, especially in front of 100 people. That was most of my Edinburgh Fringe shows in the early days in front of 100 people.
“It’s a pretty intimate laugh, and the only thing is if the audience can really handle it, you can take the Mickey out of them.
“It’s the people who are watching [at home] who are offended, not the audience. It’s always fine with them.”
And his observation proved correct faster than he could have expected.
As the NTA audience burst into laughter at his sex toy joke, viewers watching from home took to the internet to complain.
One person wrote: “Well, Lee Mack is going to be fired now.”
Another chimed in with: “Not sure @LeeMack did himself any favors. Still a big fan of the 1% club.”
Someone else added: “Watching Lee Mack try to be funny is just painful.”
