Lee Sun Kyun made his debut in 2001 as Brad in the musical The Rocky Horror Show. He starred in many popular musicals, including Grease (2003), Indian Love Song (2005), and Love, Love, Love (2013). He made his television debut in the 2002 MBC Korean drama Lovers, playing a very small supporting role. He played supporting roles in many popular Korean dramas and TV series, such as Thousand Years of Love (2003), Chahandangshin Love Crazy (2003), Transparent (2004), Pure Love (2005), Love Crazy (2005), Taereung National Village (2005), and Fugitive Lee Doo-yong (2006). On December 27, 2023, Lee Sun-kyun was found dead in a parked car in Wolyong Park in Seoul, South Korea. According to his family, he left home earlier that day and left a suicide note.
