A LEGENDARY ITV newsreader is set to make a shock return to telly on the rival channel.
Sir Trevor McDonald is due to appear on Channel 4’s digital channel More4 at the end of the month.

Former ITV news anchor to join Bill Bailey in his More4 series Credit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
The award-winning former ITN journalist, 84, will join Bill Bailey on his travel show.
Bill, 59, will walk across Essex as he and Sir Trevor explore areas of the perfect pub.
During the episode, viewers will see the pair take in the views that inspired artist John Constable around Dedham Vale, the Essex-Suffolk border and the Stour Estuary.
Trevor, a dad of three, will first talk to Bill about his move out of Trinidad.

Trevor will also share insight into his decades-long career as a journalist.
Fans will be able to see Trevor’s return to the screen on Tuesday, February 26 on More4.
Before Trevor’s retirement from ITV he was earning £600,000 a year.
Sir Trevor retired in 2005 but came out of retirement in 2007 – although not involved in the day-to-day broadcast, he regularly presents ITV specials.
He retired for the second time in 2008.
In 1999, Trevor was knighted for his services to journalism.
