Adam Brody and Leighton Meester know how to make a marriage work.
Speaking with Access to Hollywood’With Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover on the red carpet at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5, the couple revealed one of the key secrets to keeping their 10-year marriage going.
The conversation started after the couple were told that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s “secret to a successful marriage” involved dual-head showers and separate toilets.

For Brody, 45, the proposal was too relatable.
“We have de facto separate toilets,” he said OC the alum said. “I’m going to the office. it’s nice One layer away from the kids and one layer deeper with privacy.”
Brody and Meester (38) married in 2014, and are the parents of two children that the couple keeps out of the public eye. They welcomed their first child in 2015, and their second child in 2020.

According to Gossip Girl alum, she goes to whatever bathroom is available.
“I just didn’t think about the toilet situation at all,” she said. “It never occurred to me.”
After discussing their toilet preferences, they moved on to Brody’s latest Netflix series, Nobody wants this — which earned him a nomination for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series, Comedy. (The award went to Jeremy Allen White for his role in Bear.)

Brody stars as newly single Rabbi Noah in the romantic comedy opposite Kristen Bell — a single, agnostic sex podcaster named Joanne looking for love.
While talking to Access to HollywoodBrody recalled celebrating his Golden Globe nomination with his wife.

“I received calls, but I honestly don’t remember calling anyone. We were in bed together, so it was nice. I don’t think I called anybody,” Brody said.
Meester revealed that she had seen the show — which has already been renewed for a second season — before it hit Netflix, and she already had a pretty good feeling it was going to do well.

“I mean, I don’t know if I’m one of those people who can say — I feel like we watched it together before it came out and I was like, ‘It’s working. It works. It’s so good.’ And you go, ‘Yeah, yeah,'” Meester said. “I don’t think there’s any way to know, especially with streaming now you kind of can’t tell. And then it came out and it was like, ‘Okay.’ ”

While Brody may now be known as the “hot rabbi” to fans who swooned over his on-screen romance, he told the tabloid that his wife “gets the good stuff.”
“It’s not even like A-material,” he said.
