Lewis Cope is an American journalist. He served as an officer in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He is a member of the National Science Writers Association, where he served on the Executive Committee from 1982 to 1993, as Treasurer from 1985 to 1988, as Vice President from 1989 to 1990, and as President from 1991 to 1992. He is also a member of Sigma Delta Chi, where he served as President of the Minnesota Chapter from 1973 to 1974 and as Deputy Regional Director from 1974 to 1986.
