Liam Gallagher tells fans to ‘shut up’ in rant as he returns to social media after Oasis ticket scandal

LIAM Gallagher has told Oasis fans to ‘shut up’ in a shock speech after returning to social media following the ticketing scandal.

He posted on X, formerly Twitter, this morning and wrote: ‘OASIS are back, you’re welcome and I hear their ATTITUDE STINKS, good to know something never changes.’

Then, when a series of fan comments responded to his post criticizing the approach to ticket sales, Liam responded with two words: “Shut up.”

He was then asked how he felt about the big Oasis reunion and he told fans he was feeling “smug”.

Liam replied: “SMUG just kidding SMUG AS *** I told you everything we will get back together one fine day.”

The musician announced last week that he and his brother Noel Gallagher will return for a comeback tour in 2025, and on Saturday, a series of concerts in the UK and Ireland sold out in less than a day.

Fans were plagued with problems getting onto ticketing websites, from being flagged by bots and kicked out of the queue to some ending up paying more than the £148 advertised price as costs soared past £355.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) launched an investigation into Ticketmaster on Thursday, including how so-called ‘dynamic pricing’ may have been used.

When asked if he would do a free concert, he replied: “Don’t be silly.”

Another referenced his mother, Peggy, saying how the ticket fiasco would make her feel, and Liam responded by saying: “She’s devastated she couldn’t get a ticket.”

Liam also appeared to joke that he had “loads” of tickets but could only sell them for £100,000 and would “just get down on one knee”.

The CMA will also scrutinize whether Ticketmaster’s sale of Oasis tickets breached consumer protection law.

Ticketmaster claims that it does not price concerts and that its website states that it is up to the “event promoter” who “prices these tickets based on their market value.”

A spokesman for the ticketing company said: “We are committed to working with the CMA and look forward to sharing more facts about ticketing with them.”

Oasis said in a statement: “It must be clear that Oasis leaves ticketing and pricing decisions entirely to its promoters and management, and at no time was it aware that dynamic pricing would be used.

“While previous meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band’s management resulted in a positive ticketing strategy that would be a fair experience for fans, including dynamic ticketing to keep overall ticket prices low as well as reduce advertising, the execution of the plan fell short of expectations.

“All parties involved have done their best to provide the best possible fan experience, but unprecedented demand has made this impossible to achieve.”

After the chaos of the weekend, Oasis have announced new Wembley Stadium dates of 27 and 28 September 2025 via the lottery system.

The final tickets released for the UK Live ’25 tour will use a new “staged invitation-only voting process” with applications to join the vote opening first to those who failed the initial sale.

The advertising standards body reported receiving 450 complaints alleging “misleading claims about availability and prices” from Oasis ticket outlets.
