Liam Payne’s ex-fiancée Maya Henry has broken her silence following his sudden death at the age of 31.
The former One Direction star died in Argentina after falling from a hotel balcony this afternoon.

When contacted by DailyMail.com, a rep for Maya, 23, said: “She’s understandably in shock.”
Just two days before the incident, Maya instructed her legal team to send the pop star a cease and desist letter, accusing him of repeatedly contacting her and her loved ones.
The couple had an on-and-off relationship of three years, which was said to have ended for good in May 2022.
In a statement to The Sun, a spokesperson said: “Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Liam Payne after new and worrying information emerged.
“She hired attorneys Marc Crawford and Daniel Cerna to represent her. At this point, that’s her only comment on the subject.”
Speaking on TikTok, Maya said: “Since we broke up, he’s been blowing up my phone.
“It always comes from different phone numbers so I never know where it’s going to come from.
“It will create new iCloud accounts for iMessage me. It’s always a damn new iCloud account. Every time I see a new one pop up on my phone, I think ‘oh, here we go again’.
“They’ll email me, too.”
She later added: “There is no right or wrong time to talk about these topics.

“It’s disturbing that this man is still doing these things to me.
“I am appalled by this diabolical behavior. This is beyond disgusting and astounding to say the least.”
The pop star was in Buenos Aires on tour with friend Niall Horan when he tragically fell from the third floor this afternoon, TMZ reported.
A source later confirmed to The Sun that Liam had died.
Liam stayed at the CasaSur hotel in the Palermo district, according to local media.
A red tent has reportedly been erected over the body as police begin an investigation into the death.
The police were called to “an aggressive man who may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” according to local media.
But when they arrived, they found Liam dead.
Witnesses said Liam smashed his laptop and had to be carried into his room after the incident.
The 31-year-old rose to fame through the boy band and then pursued a solo career after the group disbanded.
Liam was part of One Direction between 2010 and 2015 and released one solo album in 2019 – LP1.
The Sun revealed last week that Liam had parted ways with his management and put plans for a second solo album on hold.
Earlier this week, Liam’s ex Maya Henry called in lawyers after she accused Liam of repeatedly texting her, her friends and her mum.
Liam made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for The X Factor in 2008.
After being eliminated as a solo artist, he auditioned again in 2010 and was placed in a group with four other contestants to form One Direction.
Liam dated singer Cheryl Cole, and the couple welcomed a child named Bear in 2017.
They divorced in 2018 before he was linked to supermodel Naomi Campbell in 2019.
The singer spoke openly about his struggle with drugs.
In 2021, he blamed a “pill and booze phase” for his facial bloat to be “ten times bigger”, while also revealing that he used to swallow the contents of his mini bar when band bosses checked the guys into hotels to keep fans away.
