Lil Baby Arrested on Concealed Weapon Charge in Las Vegas

Lil Baby was arrested after being charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a license in Las Vegas.

According to court records reviewed by PEOPLE, the 29-year-old rapper — whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones — was charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a license following his arrest on Monday, August 26.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed to PEOPLE that he was arrested around 5 a.m. following the incident that occurred in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. Additional details have not been released.

He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and posted bond, court records show. He is due back in court on October 1.

In a joint statement for Los Angeles Timeshis attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, said Lil Baby has a “valid CCW permit in Georgia.”

“On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas,” their statement added.

According to the Georgia Attorney General’s website, Nevada does not recognize concealed handgun permits from Georgia.

“Georgia gun permit holders should familiarize themselves with the individual Georgia gun permit requirements and restrictions in any of the states in which they wish to exercise their rights,” the website advises. “Gun laws vary from state to state and there may be municipal or county ordinances that regulate guns in other states.”

According to BillboardLil Baby previously faced legal trouble in 2021 when he was detained while in France for Paris Fashion Week after being cited for allegedly “trafficking drugs.” The outlet reports that he was also arrested in Atlanta for reckless driving in February 2019.
