Lily Allen is bringing the heat with her hair this winter!
The singer-songwriter, 38, debuted a show-stopping new haircut on Instagram on Monday, swapping her previous orange pixie for an ultra-long, fire engine red one.
Allen showed off her new look in a selfie, tucking her fiery red locks into a beanie as she posed next to subway tracks. She completed the new color with a practically identical shade on her lips.

The “Smile” singer let the picture — and the hair — speak for itself, but she highlighted her new resemblance to Princess Ariel with a unique red-haired mermaid emoji in the caption.
While Allen didn’t give any details about the hair, Ester (@hairbyester), the hair extension expert responsible for her new shop, dedicated a before-and-after post to the singer’s new look — and shared a behind-the-scenes look at the 11-hour extension process.
The New York-based expert shared a video on TikTok explaining that “when Lily Allen DMs you … you have to respond,” adding that Allen’s old music videos “lifted me up.”

Ester went on to explain that Allen, who arrived with a short bob and faded orange hair, originally only wanted extensions that fell to her shoulders, but changed her mind during fitting.
“When we met and I started the installation and she started seeing how long it was … we kind of decided to go all in,” she said.

The thickness of Allen’s hair — combined with the fact that she currently has a pixie cut — proved challenging, the stylist said.
“I did what I could, but I don’t think any of us were prepared for the intensity and complexity of this installation,” she said. “This was probably the most complex installation I’ve done so far, because of the really short hair and the really thick, thick, thick hair that she had.”
After 11 a.m., Allen’s extensions, which Ester said she custom-dyed, were in place, with the expert calling the look “wearable art.”

Allen, who rose to fame rocking auburn locks, bleached her chic black bob platinum in February and debuted the look on Instagram with a casual selfie and the cheeky caption: “Can I speak to the manager?”
Then, after going blonde for a few months, the “F— You” singer switched things up again in September, arriving at Sofia Coppola’s book launch with a new copper color.
At the Chanel-collaborated event, Allen aptly paired her hot new dress with a black patent leather jacket and matching silk shorts by the designer. She came with her husband of three years, David Harbour, who complemented her in a dark suit.
